Ether Renewal - Good, but wanted?
So I've seen all this hype about Ether Renewal somewhat recently. A lot of either "It's too good and needs to be nerfed" or the opposite, and people love it. Barely ever using my ele, I thought I'd put on the bar and use it on some NPCs to see how this Infuse ER ele works.
I did it, and loved it. But do people want it? It seems most people are only talking about Heroes running it, which ruins the point of me running it.
Are there any groups for end-game things that people actually want an ER infuser for? Or is my ele still doomed to sit in my log-in screen, collecting dust?

Go to UW. They'll love you there.

Really? People use ER Infuse for UW?
Is it part of a speedclear, or some gimmicky PvX build, or just a kind of BYOB deal?

How could you say a monk with infinite energy, infinite health, and a move that can heal over 300-400hp be bad? Also Prot Bond is epic win with Burning.
E/Mo ER's are probably one of the best healers in the game, if not the best.

Lets not forget it's the hardest build to play.
I've seen plenty of bad ER's that try rolling face across keyboard and the team ends up dying. Playing like a healer than a monk, as the job is to heal and keep an eye on the enemy. If the player doesn't do both the ER can kiss his elite and team goodbye.
It's overpowered in the right hands. Weak in the other.

I didn't know someone in this thread said it was bad o.o
I've been sitting in ToA for awhile and haven't seen anyone asking for an ER. People run different builds than what is on PvX, so I still don't really see a major use for this build. I'd REALLY like to use it for something group-like.

Go to amd1/2 in ToA. Join a "physway" group or start one yourself.
In general, you have to start a group yourself if you want to do something nowadays.

I'm sure if I started it, I could get a group going, but I don't know how the build works, anyway.
It seems the PvX builds are out of date, and no one does them anymore. So I guess for easy grouping, ER isn't a choice. Oh well!

It might be falling out of favor; I havent been in ToA lately. Regardless, its always a bit iffy to be an ER since youll have to explain how your build works and why its not horrible to every other person. Its up to you if you want to bother with it, or play something more accepted. ((check your "want to buy" thread))

ERs generally start their own parties, as when people say "GLF heals" they don't accept an elementalist ;p Do some random ZQs before you do UW for the first time Infusing.
Also, It's not the builds outdated, it's the guide. People can't follow instructions/read

ZM pugs usually do not accept ERs for healers. Most of the time they are bad at the build at best at ZMs, and lots of areas have enough enchant removal to make you totally useless. Personally, I haven't taken an ER in a party anywhere but the UW and not seriously regretted letting them stay after the ER causes the party to fail. To contradict ElnoreVarda, I now refuse to party with ERs outside of the UW.
Go back to ToA and advertise exactly what you're looking for. People will come along sooner or later. Or if you don't like waiting around there more you can try organizing a group on the forums here. You might try assembling a NM party first so you can get into the swing of exactly how to run UW and your build before attempting to jump right into a HM UWsc, particularly with short tempered "pros".

Not really.
Well of Profane is troublesome if you don't have an MB in the party.
Chilblains is troublesome if you position yourself badly amongst the rest of the team. (even then, you need a good three copies of it to hurt you.)
Rend Enchantments is troublesome when you *just* finished casting ER and get stripped. This is, once again, due to stupidity.
Finally Mirror of Disenchantment is the worst when using PBond, and is easily prevented with an Orders spam bot.
PvE needs more enchantment removal before ER becomes on-par or any less useful to a Monk.

I've seen ER prot builds run on Ele heroes for general PvE. On paper it looks good. However, what I have found is that the hero doesn't anticipate or precast any of the enchantments, so early spikes can be a problem, unless you micromanage the hero.
A human can run it quite effectively, though it's not the most exciting build to run.

He was talking about running it on a human anyway. We know heroes are poor at spamming.
